Five Books On My TBR – July 2020

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well and having a lovely week. It is time again for me to look ahead to some of the books I have added to my TBR relatively recently, and there are a lot of them. Some I hope to read soon, others will have to wait a little longer…

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder by Holly Jackson

I have wanted to read this book for the longest time, but for whatever reason I have never picked it up. It seems like the perfect YA thriller, so I shall definitely put that right very soon.

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Everything I have seen and heard about this book since it was released not long ago, suggests it will be an excellent read. I love books with a haunted vibe, so I am sure that this will be no exception.

The Book Of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd

This does not seem like the kind of book that I would normally read, but I am intrigued by the concept and have seen

Maria And The Moon by Louise Beech

I absolutely adore Louise Beech’s writing and am slowly making my way through all of her books. This one seems to have all the emotion and whimsical originality that I have become used to discovering from her.

Gone by Leona Deakin

Just one look at the synopsis for this book and I immediately added it to my TBR! It looks like an amazing thriller and a great twist on the missing persons premise.

Have you read any of these books? If you have, what did you think? Let me know in the comments!

Happy reading 🙂

  1. I recently added Mexican Gothic to my wishlist… Although I won’t likely get to it any time soon.

I hope you’re able to enjoy all these books in the near future.

  3. Some great additions, Stephen! I have two Louise Beech books that I’m planning on reading soon and most likely will read Maria in the Moon afterwards. Sue Monk Kidd is a brilliant writer and I’ve loved her previous books but somehow the premise of The Book of Longing doesn’t sound as interesting to me. I’ll definitely be looking out to hear your thoughts on that one. Happy reading!

    1. Thank you, Darina! I’m very much looking forward to reading the rest of Louise Beech’s books. Which ones are you planning on reading soon? I have never read anything by Sue Monk Kidd, but it is great to hear that you have enjoyed her other books. Happy reading to you, too!

      1. Ah I’d love to know what you think of them! How To Be Brave is absolutely wonderful and I’ve also heard the best things about I Am Dust. I’ll read that after Maria and the Moon and Call Me Star Girl. 🙂
