Hello everyone,
It is time for me to share another bookish poem!
This time I have written a poem about being at a bookstore and buying lots of books, perhaps more than one should π The first three verses didn’t take me that long to write, but the last one took ages to get right!
It is called ‘Another Book Haul’. I hope you like it!
The books gleam from beckoning shelves
Drawing me instinctively towards them
My eyes hover over their artful covers
As I stay here for hours on end
The new releases stare invitingly;
Just asking to be bought
While many more on my to-read list
Eye me intently from across the store
An endless choice of intriguing stories;
I want to own them all
And though mindful of my overflowing bookcase,
There will always be room for more
I finally leave and my hands are full
An emptying bank account rages in protest
But this perfect, shiny new haul
Puts my mind firmly to rest
Did you like this poem? I would love to know your thoughts! Let me know in the comments!
Have a great weekend π
This is so me! π I loved it

Perfectly captures the feeling of going to a bookshop and being excited/overwhelmed in the presence of so many new books! Another excellent poem π
