Would You Rather Book Tag

Hello everyone,

It is time to return to the world of book tags! I was tagged in this exciting one by Mek, an excellent and very supportive blogger. The questions here seem difficult, but fun. Without further ado, let’s get straight to it!

THE RULES

  • Answer the questions given to you by your nominator.
  • Make up your own questions and tag others.

Mek’s Questions

  1. Would you rather only read mass market paperbacks or only read stiff, non-floppy paperbacks?
Non-floppy paperbacks all the way! I don’t like physical books that are too flexible.
  2. Would you rather have your favourite character be a terrible person in real life or your favourite author be a horrible in real life?
If my favourite author did something terrible in real life, that would definitely affect me and impact my feelings towards them. The idea of my favourite character being horrible is much more hypothetical.
  3. Would you rather meet your favourite booktubers or meet your favourite book blogger?
I do not watch any booktube videos, so this is a very easy question! I would absolutely love to meet lots of my favourite book bloggers, not just one. If I did it would be truly wonderful, but it would also make me a bit nervous lol.
  4. Would you rather have to dog-ear your pages or have to write on them?
Ah, this is an evil question, Mek! I can’t really abide either option, but I have written in books before (it was a long time ago, I promise!), so I shall go for that.
  5. Would you rather have a damaged book delivered to you every time or the wrong book to be delivered to you every time (the second or third time you may get the right one)?
I like my books to be in excellent condition, even the ones I buy from charity shops. So if the wrong book was delivered I would probably prefer that. Who knows, I might end up liking it.
  6. Would you rather be a librarian or a bookseller?
This is a difficult question. I am really not sure about this one. Both are great, but being a bookseller appeals ever so slightly more.
  7. Would you rather have your favourite character die in the end or have your favourite character not complete their mission/life goal?
I get quite sad when my favourite characters die, so I would probably like to keep them alive at all costs! If they were to fail their mission, I could probably just about live with that.
  8. Would you rather live in a library in space or a live in a library under the sea?
Definitely a library in space. If I lived in a library under the sea, all the books would be soaking wet. 😂😂
  9. Would you rather not be able to read any books from your favourite author or have them not publish anything again?
I would rather them not publish again. It would be very hard to not be able to go back to some of my favourite books.
  10. Would you rather read everything ever published (even the worst books) or read only one book a year?
Possibly the hardest question saved for last! In other contexts I would say quality over quantity, but only being able to read one book in a year would be painful.
As book lovers, we often say that there are so many books, so little time. In that case I shall go for everything ever published, but rest assured, there will be a lot of DNFs in there. 😉

My Questions

I am quite literally the worst at thinking of questions for these tag posts, so I shall use Mek’s questions, which were really good ones.

  1. Lol at your answer re library in space or under the sea: “Definitely a library in space. If I lived in a library under the sea, all the books would be soaking wet. 😂😂” TRUE THOUGH. Can’t argue with that. This looks really fun and the questions are so hard, but I’ll give it a go! Thanks so much for the tag! 🙂

  2. This is such a great post. I really enjoyed reading this one.
I’m ok writing on books now because I realized the notes on the pages make the books more personal. I can only imagine that when I die, my collection of books will end up in different hands and then they will see my notes and if they’re avid readers just like me, I’m sure it will warm their hearts. I love buying secondhand books and it always warms my hearts to see notes on pages. Same with old bookmarks. hehe 🙂 🙂

    1. Thank you, Lili. You are welcome to have a go at this tag if you like 🙂.
That’s absolutely right, writing in books does make it more personal. I may not write in books myself, but I very much appreciate the way others do. 🙂
