Hello everyone,
I found this tag on Sahi‘s blog and really wanted to have a go at it. Although I am not so much of a book hoarder and have a reasonable amount of self control, I am still rather obsessed with reading! Let’s begin…
1. What do you like about buying new books?
Buying new books is always exciting, as I get to admire the cover and its texture. I love a new book in its pristine condition, so am super careful not to damage it in any way! Also, owning a new book makes me look forward to reading it even more.
2. How often do you buy new books?
I usually buy about two or three new books per month. That will not seem like many to some, but I usually like to focus primarily on my upcoming TBR and not have an overwhelming pile of books at home that I still haven’t read. I also use the library a lot.
3. Bookstore or online book shopping: which do you prefer?
I absolutely love visiting bookstores and just losing all concept of time and other important things I could should be doing, but I do shop for books an equal amount online, purely for convenience.
4. Do you have a favourite bookshop?

Of course I love Waterstones. That is the shop I visit the most and where I buy a large percentage of my books. But if you are asking me for an independent bookshop, I would say Topping & Co. in Bath.
I live in Bristol, which for a large city does not have all that many great bookshops, so Bath is the nearest alternative.
5. Do you pre-order books?
Only for my most anticipated new releases. Apart from that, I am usually happy to wait.
6. Do you have a monthly buying limit?
I don’t have any buying limits, although sometimes I choose not to buy books in order to avoid adding even more to my current physical TBR.
7. How big is your wish list?
Well, my Goodreads TBR currently stands at 160, although my actual wish list is considerably shorter than that. I am mainly focusing at the moment on the books I want to read in 2020, and which ones I need to prioritise.
8. Which three books from your wish list do you wish to own right now?
I am waiting for the paperback of The Confession. As for the other two, I just haven’t got around to buying them yet!

Happy reading 🙂
Last year I did a big step and deleted all the books in my Goodreads To-Be Read and now I only list the next 20 books I will read. It helps me become more organized but deleting my TBR on Goodreads took me hours. hehe.

That is super organised and I would imagine it makes your TBR less daunting lol. I think I need to delete some of mine 😉

Great post. I must be rather odd. I rarely buy books on my TBR list unless they’re for reference/research. When I do buy novels and such, they’re donations to thrift stores and the library bookstore. I’ve discovered some great authors that way.
By the way, I love that cover for The Confession; I haven’t heard of it, but the cover intrigues me. 🙂

Thank you, Meredith! That’s cool, I’m glad your way has helped you discover new authors.
And yes the cover is really nice. I recommend Jessie Burton, she is one of my favourites. 🙂
