The TBR Tag

Hello everyone,

I hope you are having an excellent weekend so far and enjoying your current books. This tag is all about upcoming reads – I found it on Sepia Reads and wanted to have a go. It was actually created by Rachel back in 2014.

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

I mostly rely on my ‘want to read’ shelf on Goodreads. For those books I have signed out from the library, I just need to be mindful of when they are due back. This year, I have had to pay two library fines!

Is your TBR mostly print or e-book?
It is mostly print books. I have a pile of them in my bedroom that seems to be continually growing. For every e-book that I read, I would say that there are at least three physical books.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
I usually decide based on which books are my most highly anticipated, the ones i have owned for the longest amount of time, and the genre. I like to switch genre quite regularly, which was one of my goals for 2019.

A book that’s been on your TBR the longest

I still want to read this book, but I have never made it top priority and that’s why I haven’t yet! Perhaps I shall find time for it in 2020, as I know some of my bookish friends have enjoyed it.

A book that you recently added to your TBR

I am seeing this one around everywhere and all the reviews have more or less been positive. The plot is intriguing too, so it was an easy decision to add it to my TBR.

A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover

I don’t think I have an answer to this, as most of the books on my TBR are determined by the synopsis and the thoughts of other bloggers and friends.

A book on your TBR that you NEVER plan on actually reading

I added this one to my Goodreads TBR in 2018, but I cannot remember why! It doesn’t even seem like my kind of book.

An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for

I am a huge fan of Cara Hunter’s police procedural thrillers, and luckily they come along thick and fast! All The Rage is the fourth book in the series and is due to be released in January – I will look to get my hands on it very quickly!

A book on your TBR that basically everyone has read except you

I am somewhat ashamed to say that I still have not read anything by Madeline Miller, but that will soon change. I have The Song Of Achilles on my TBR pile, and I am going to read it before the end of 2019.

A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you

I have heard so many incredible things about this book! It sounds like a dark and captivating thriller, so I will eventually take my friends up on their recommendation…

A book on your TBR that you’re just dying to read

Any book by Jessie Burton is eagerly anticipated, but I have decided to wait for the paperback to be released…

The number of books on your Goodreads TBR shelf

I have a scary total of 158 books on my Goodreads TBR.

I am not going to nominate anyone for this, but I would encourage you to have a go at this tag!

Happy reading 🙂

  1. Love this! And I agree about The Whisper Man! I keep seeing it EVERYWHERE. Also, you must go for Achilles. I enjoyed it! Hope you will too 🙂 I’ve been meaning to read My Sister The Serial Killer too. It’s still sitting in my kindle LOL

  2. I am really excited for All the Rage too! My Sister, The Serial Killer was a very different book to any out there with some very twisted humour but ultimately I enjoyed it. I’m keen to find out what you think about it once you get round to reading it!
